DIRECTOR & WRITER
Jen West creates magical stories based on bold and unconventional characters, oftentimes from the Deep South.
“I have a thirty-year background in film and television casting, having worked for Martin Scorsese, Alexander Payne, David O. Russell, Joel and Ethan Coen, George Romero, David Letterman and indie talents such as Debra Granik. My career as an award-winning casting director has been built on a demonstrated ability to recognize and align myself with the vision of exceptional talent, actors and directors alike. I cannot emphasize strongly enough that Jen West is a uniquely distinguished writer/director/producer in recognition of her maturity, creativity, integrity, taste and talent. Jen’s success at making things happen, can be attributed to her boundless creative energy, not only for her own advancement, but for other deserving colleagues with whom she is aligned in this business. As an ongoing mentor for Jen, I’m enamored with the unusual, moving, entertaining and beautifully conceptualized pieces of writing she creates. Despite the difficulties of bringing a full-length period feature film project to the screen, I have no doubt that it will come to fruition under her direction, due to her positive spirit, vision and guidance. Hers is a genuinely challenging endeavor, in an industry that continues to offer minimal support for female directors in what has always been a very competitive marketplace.”
— Ellen Parks, Casting Director for Secretary, Sideways, Election, and many more.

"I believe that upholding responsible storytelling, when outside of one’s own small space in the world, allows for a domino effect in greater inclusivity and sharing."
