SAND DUNNING
Episodic documentary.
From the Western shore of Lake Michigan, lies Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Formed some 1,800,000 years ago, the miles of dunes are known for their even-textured grain, made largely from quartz dumped by Canadian glaciers from Canada. Long after the ice departed, wind swept the sand grains together to form dunes as high as four-story buildings. The dunes mingle with grass and forests and stretch for miles along freshwater beaches and create a scenic respite on sunny, summer days. An idyllic summer playground.
